To communicate! Humanity feels this fundamental need to share with others. Many indeed have tried to convey the depth of their feelings through art (painting, photography, writing, etc.). For my sake, when I wish to express my emotions, without hesitation it is through music composition that I do it. While writing my first album, I had in mind one theme: "nature", hence the title Nature Had It First. I have always enjoyed nature myself, whether it is in the forest, in a mountain or on a lake for example. To be in contact with elements of the environment where we live, not invented or constructed by man, is definitely an inspiration for me and this is reflected on the twelve tracks. However, beyond the musical notes that I have written, there is the message, the ideas, the feeling and the deeper emotions within. Nature Had It First is divided into three parts. The first two parts serve as an introduction to my album. However, the first piece should be considered as an overture and the second as an introduction to a story. They are not follow ups of one another, but two distinct works. The second part ranges from tracks three to height. These are solely pieces I wrote or put on draft during my studies at the Marie-Victorin College in the music department. Fire's Wrath, however, was written this year, but the introduction, that is to say the first sixty seconds, go back to 2009. Each of them was a homework for my composition classes. The third part includes the last tracks nine to twelve. It brings together more personal works in which I put more care and effort to compose. As for the twelfth and last track, it is offered as a bonus because it gives a foretaste of the project I plan to conceive in a second album. You will observe that the tenth track Elements of Nature lasts a little over twelve minutes. Up to date, this is the most colossal piece I have ever written and I am more than satisfied with the result. It is the most colossal because it is, first of all the longest of my repertoire, so far the most detailed as for the writing, also the one with the largest variety of instruments, but above all because I put over 1000 hours to achieve it. Once more I will say, I am proud to have composed this very important work. In short, countless hours of joy, frustration, tears and intense moments have marked it. Henceforth, having written this album on spare time but with great care, it is time for me to move on, and improve my writing style in order to refine my compositions, especially considering writing rhythmic or slightly more popular pieces. Time will tell though. For the moment, I am pleased to present to you my very first album entitled "Nature Had It First". I worked hard so that this album reaches a delightful perfume of my own personal expectations and needs. My only wish is that you will have as much enjoyment listening than I've had to compose it. Please enjoy!
