Virginia Yep (Lima, Peru), studied guitar with Juan Brito at Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Lima. She obtained the greatest Grade Point average award and also Second Place at the Mozart Musical Contest for all instruments. She then became teacher at the conservatory. After graduation as Guitar Concertist she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid (Spain) where she studied with José Luis Rodrigo. She graduated with Highest Honor. Later on, she took Master classes with José Luis Rodrigo (Granada, Santiago de Compostela), Leo Brouwer (Ville de Castres) and Flores Chaviano (Granada). She had performed several times with the National Symphony Orchestra as a soloist, specially with the 'Concierto de Aranjuez' from Joaquín Rodrigo, with the Camerata de Cuerdas de Trujillo and another groups of chambre music. Her repertoire include specially contemporary works of Latin American composers. Currently she offers concerts and Recitals and played on many Guitarfestivals throughout Peru, Southamerica, Caribbean, Türkey, Afrika and China. Since 2002, she is composing her own guitar pieces using elements of contemporary and popular Latin American Music in a classical Fusion. Actually, she lives in Berlin, Germany.- Shop: odax
