Sunset Beach (eBook, ePUB)
Pull up a lounge chair and have a cocktail at Sunset Beach - it comes with a twist.Drue Campbell's life is adrift. Out of a job and down on her luck, life doesn't seem to be getting any better when her estranged father, Brice Campbell, a flamboyant personal injury attorney, shows up at her mother's funeral after a twenty-year absence. Worse, he's remarried - to Drue's eighth grade frenemy, Wendy, now his office manager. And they're offering her a job. It seems like the job from hell, but the offer is sweetened by the news of her inheritance - her grandparents' beach bungalow in the sleepy town of Sunset Beach, a charming but storm-damaged eyesore now surrounded by waterfront McMansions. With no other prospects, Drue begrudgingly joins the firm, spending her days screening out the grifters whose phone calls flood the law office. Working with Wendy is no picnic either. But when a suspicious death at an exclusive beach resort nearby exposes possible corruption at her father's firm, she goes from unwilling cubicle rat to unwitting investigator, and is drawn into a case that may - or may not - involve her father. With an office romance building, a decades-old missing persons case re-opened, and a cottage in rehab, one thing is for sure at Sunset Beach: there's a storm on the horizon. Guardian Angel: V. I. Warshawski, Book 7 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 890min
Racine Avenue is going upscale — bad news for hand-to-mouth residents like V. I. Warshawski. As tax bills skyrocket, newcomers pressure old inhabitants into fixing up their homes or moving out. To the yuppies on the block the worst eyesore belongs to old Hattie Frizell, whose yard is “returning to native prairie, complete with hubcaps.” Their block club wants her and her five dogs gone.V. I. and Hattie have a relationship of sorts: one of those five dogs gave V. I.’s dog Peppy an unwelcome litter. When Hattie slips in her bath and is rushed unconscious to the hospital, V. I. feels compelled to get involved. But neighboring lawyer Todd Pichea and his wife, Chrissie, act swiftly to get the courts to make them Hattie’s legal guardians. V. I. returns from a business trip to find they’ve put the old woman’s dogs to sleep. Furious, V. I. starts poking around in the Picheas’ affairs, hoping to turn up something scandalous enough to make them lose their guardianship. Hattie isn’t the detective’s only worry. When her downstairs neighbor’s oldest friend disappears, Mr. Contreras persuades V. I. to investigate. As she probes both problems, V. I. uncovers a scandal linking one of Chicago’s oldest industrial families to union fraud and a politically connected bank. Her investigation takes her into the depths of the steamy Sanitary Canal and brings her eyeball-to-eyeball with her ex-husband, Dick Yarborough. When her dear friend Lotty Herschel and her own lawyer turn against her, V. I. is left alone to struggle with the most serious case of her career. ungekürzt. Language: English. Minimalistic Lifestyle: 10 Easy Steps to Becoming a Minimalist: Ultimate Guide to Home and Digital Decluttering and Organizing for the Minimalist Mom & More! , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 41min
Imagine a manageable housekeeping routine that is stress free. Imagine coming home after a long day at work to a neat, orderly, and clear home. Sounds impossible? Then maybe it's time to organize and declutter the minimalist way. If clutter could talk, it would be an annoying and nagging boss that would always tell you to pick it up, clean it up, organize it, or store it. Start having more control over your stuff and not the other way around. Be the boss, and don't let the clutter boss you around. The greatest benefit of having less clutter in our home, I must say, is that cleaning has become so much easier. Before I started the decluttering project, it was always so daunting to dust the shelves, especially the top, because I had to go through a lot of knickknacks. There are arrays of loose magazines and stacks of everything else in one corner that I never had the chance to tuck away. When I successfully finished reorganizing the house, it took so much less time to put all the clutter away and clean, since there are fewer things in the way. With less clutter, the house now seemed to become homier, more calm, relaxing, neat, clean, and spacious. You will also find this true once you start decluttering your own home. Try it with a simple experiment with two countertops. Reorganize, declutter, and remove unnecessary items from one, and leave the other one as it is. Take a look at both counters. I am certain that the clear countertop will have a calming effect while the cluttered one will certainly give you feelings of anxiety and distraction. Now amplify your response through your house. A decluttered home with fewer things is blissfully less stressful and less of an eyesore. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Gretchen Wylder. eBay Motors Money Machine: How I Make $500 a Week Selling Used Auto Parts on eBay , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 30min
Make $500 a week selling used auto parts on eBay! I'm going to tell you how I make $500 a week (usually much more) selling used auto parts on eBay. And, the great thing is that it's something anybody can do if they don't mind getting a little dirty or greasy. What I'm going to explain to you doesn't require a fancy education or previous experience selling on eBay. You don't even need to know anything about cars or car parts, really, but if you do it's a big plus that can help you make even more money. What got me started selling car parts? I had an old Mustang I always planned to restore. Then I got married. We had a kid, and the car sat there in the driveway gathering dust and complaints from the neighbors about it being an eyesore. Finally, I had enough and decided I'd try to sell it on Craigslist, but I didn't get any takers. I called the scrapyard. They offered me 100 bucks. I was pretty sure a few of the parts alone were worth more than that. Several days later, I got this crazy idea. What if I part it out on eBay? I was sure to get more than $100. Over the next three weeks, I pulled every part I could off of that car - shift knobs, shifter arm, distributor, glove box door, hood emblem, and window crank handle. You name a part, I put it up for sale, and the funny thing is - the parts sold. Someone paid me $33 for a window crank, $25 for the Mustang horse emblem, and $25 for the owner's manual. It was nuts! People emailed to ask if I had this or that part left. When I got their emails, I'd head back out to the car with my wrench and screwdriver to yank it out for them. I'd come back in the house and list the part on eBay for the agreed upon price. After three weeks, I'd sold close to $700 in parts from a car the junkyard offered a 100 bucks for. All I could think was, "I need another car." ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Joe Pocian. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/039152/bk_acx0_039152_sample.mp3.
