What's Wrong With Your Dad? , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 306min
What’s Wrong With Your Dad is the true story of what it was like growing up and surviving a family with both alcoholism and Borderline Personality Disorder. It is told in the first person in a very conversational way, like the author and the reader are just sitting over coffee talking. It explains in clear layman’s terms the behaviors of both alcoholism and Borderline Personality Disorder and lets the reader know in no uncertain terms that the behavior was not in any way created by any adult child of either an alcoholic or BPD.This is a story of survival and a story of hope. It follows the author from birth to her late 40’s. From small farm town in California to her own private practice in Mesa, AZ. It is an empowering journey of learning how to survive damaging parents and teaching others how to survive damaging parents. Although the subject matter is sometimes hard to read there is a lot of humor, a lot of love and a lot of acceptance and understanding that will bring the reader to a greater understanding of what drives both alcoholism and BPD. The book teaches the reader that just because your childhood was rocky and not much fun it does not mean you cannot have success and fun as an adult. This book was written in response to numerous clients who mistakenly believed that they were alone in the universe in having alcoholic and dysfunctional parents. In writing this book I have bared my soul and shown that they are not alone in surviving a frightening and baffling childhood due to both the personality disorder and the alcoholism of the parents. There is always, always hope. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Kristine Godinez. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/126209/bk_acx0_126209_sample.mp3. Coward
Stargrass is the most recent musical offering by singer/songwriter/guitarist Ted Wallis, (Orange, Sweet T, Ted Wallis and the Broken Days). Stargrass consists of the following exceptional individuals: TW, vocals, guitar, Joe Bean guitar, Christian Carlson, drums backing vocals, and Bennet Pullen on Bass and backing vocals. They will be touring this Fall with their new record entitled "Coward." The member of Stargrass have either opened for, or shared the stage with a variety of diverse acts such as, Incubus, Everclear, the Radiators, Dazy Head Mazy and the Presidents of the USA, and Danny Godinez, to name just a few. Ted's old band Orange was formed in 2002 by songwriter Ted Wallis and founding member Josh Wilson. After three and a half years of some fairly consistent touring of the Pacific Northwest, West Coast and deep into the Midwest playing clubs, midsized venues and college campuses. They received college airplay on over 150 college/commercial radio stations for the 2004, Push album. Orange blends funk, jazz, R&B, and ball shattering Rock n Roll. (We would never shatter anyone's balls, it's really just an uncomfortable metaphor). The songwriting of Ted Wallis has garnered considerable media attention over the years. Please see the attached Press info. His bands have recorded four remarkable recordings since 2001, with 2001's Assembly, followed by the aforementioned 2004 'Push,' and an EP in 2005 called 'Mr. Whatever' all of which sold at least a 1,000 or so copies each and are out of print. Ted went back in to the studio to rework some unfinished Orange material and added some newer songs and released the 'Mind Full of Crime' record in the summer of 2008. Stargrass is a really fun blues based funk band, hat gets people moving and always has a blast doing so! So, now what do you have to say for yourself? We'd love to see you in person, so don't be a stranger, ya hear? See you soon! Monday July 21, 2008 Victory Review July issue! I must admit some confusion about local singer/songwriter Ted Wallis' latest release, Mind Full of Crime, nine well-written, tightly played nuggets of seventies rock. The booklet lists the recording under his name, with Ted playing much of the instruments, though he does get help from a few people on drums, guitars, and bass tracks. But the other information accompanying the disc lists this as the first album for Ted's new band, Ted Wallis and the Broken Days, which will have a CD release party at Jazzbones soon. That being said, it's a great set of very personal sounding songs that don't always go where you think they should, and Wallis' voice blends between mildly gritty to pure falsetto with stunning ability. Mind Full of Crime took three years to record, after the dissolution of his last band, Orange, and the new group he's put together to tour for the new music should add extra flavors to the music, especially that string section. With the public eye coming back around towards Seattle again, Ted Wallis and the Broken Days could be a band to watch out for. (James Rodgers) THE STRANGER 2005 Ted Wallis and Orange (chop suey). Ted Wallis's music is like sweet tea indeed--it's mellow, goes down smooth, and lingers in your senses afterward. A look at the band's lineup bespeaks variety: You've got a drummer versed in jazz and world music, a guitarist whose last project was a funk band, and a songwriter who started recording Orange's 2005 Mr. Whatever, before ever lining up the band. From all of this has emerged a unity of sound that's melodic, flavorful, and easy on the ears. In that sense, the band's stated intention to embrace a '60s sort of sound is successful, though no one is going to mistake them for Quicksilver Messenger Service. Groovy, baby.- Shop: odax
