The musical arrangements include a variety of harmonicas, pianos, guitars, violins, cellos, drums and Luke's trademark male/female harmonies throughout the album. This album is primarily a one- man operation. It was produced and engineered by the artist, who also played all the instruments including drums (no drum machines on this one). The songs on it are guitar-driven (both acoustic and electric) with upbeat tempos and solid backbeats. Saxophone, mandolin, harmonicas and keyboards are also used periodically throughout. The album drives down the middle of the classic rock road for the most part, but will run a wheel in the ditch occasionally (in a good way) with tunes like 'Penny on the tracks' which opens with a jumpy mandolin groove or 'Rhythm' which features quick, finger-pickin' on an old Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar. Harmonies play a big part (three-part in fact) on the album as well, giving the songs a strong sing-a-longable quality.- Shop: odax
