Islam's Reign of Terror , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 107min
Islam's Reign of Terror chronicles the war waged against the U.S. and the West, resulting in over 24,000 acts of terror and tens of thousands of deaths in a campaign to force the world to submit unconditionally to Islam and Sharia Law. It also discusses the West's anemic, evasive response to the war declared against it, and how that insipid response only encourages terrorists and states that sponsor terrorism, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other Islam-dominated nations to continue to attack the West. From the numerous executions and murders of individual Westerners to the cowardly Western response to Islamic attacks over the Mohammed cartoons to the latest mass slaughters by jihadists of non-Muslims, this book attempts as broad a pallet of the destructive machinations of Islamic terror possible in a brief document. ungekürzt. Mecca: The History of Islam's Holiest City , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 73min
There is no doubt in the sanctity of Mecca, but a donkey won't become a Hajj pilgrim by just going through the motions. (Rahman Baba) The reason for the existence of most of the world's cities is obvious to the student of geography. New York and Shanghai control deep ports and straddle great rivers, bringing trade from the interior; Paris and London are at the crossing points of major cross-country rivers; Johannesburg sits atop a great mountain of gold ore; and Moscow and Madrid are at the heart of their great nations, easily able to control even the more distant corners of the land. Mecca, however, is different, as the city exists solely because it is holy. Even centuries before the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, the leaders of Mecca established that their city was the pre-eminent holy site in western Arabia and established a truce for pilgrims to the city. One effect of this was that Mecca became a center for what might today be described as tourism, as even ancient visitors needed places for food, water, and sleep. At the same time, they could make offerings in the temples and leave with mementos of their time in Mecca. Many also found it convenient to bring their trade goods to the markets of Mecca, where they could find visitors bringing interesting wares from across the region, and the city also enjoyed the status of a trade center. Of course, Mecca is now best known for being Islam's holiest city, revered as the birthplace of Muhammad and the site where Allah first revealed the Qu'ran to him. Within Mecca is the Ka'aba, a building housed within the Al-Masjid al-Haram (Great Mosque) that is considered the holiest site. Wherever they are in the world, Muslims face in the direction of the Ka'aba while praying. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Doron Alon. Mecca and Medina: The History of Islam's Holiest Cities , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 98min
There is no doubt in the sanctity of Mecca, but a donkey won't become a Hajj pilgrim by just going through the motions. (Rahman Baba) "Whenever the Prophet...returned from a journey and observed the walls of Madinah, he would make his Mount go fast, and if he was on an animal (i.e., a horse), he would make it gallop because of his love for Madinah." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 30: Hadith 110) The reason for the existence of most of the world's cities is obvious to geography students. New York and Shanghai control deep ports and straddle great rivers, bringing trade from the interior; Paris and London are at the crossing points of major cross-country rivers; Johannesburg sits atop a great mountain of gold ore; and Moscow and Madrid are at the hearts of their great nations, easily able to control even the more distant corners of the land. Medina: The History of Islam's Second Holiest City , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 64min
Whenever the Prophet...returned from a journey and observed the walls of Madinah, he would make his Mount go fast, and if he was on an animal (i.e., a horse), he would make it gallop because of his love for Madinah. (Sahih Bukhari, Book 30: Hadith 110) The reason for the existence of most of the world's cities is obvious to geography students. Medina, however, is starkly different. Even centuries before the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, Jews settled on the land to escape persecution at the hands of the Babylonians and Romans, meaning the area and its arid environment brought inhabitants precisely because it wasn't an attractive or resource rich area. In fact, the city fated to become the second holiest city in Islam earned that spot simply by straddling trade routes to the religious city of Mecca, which brought traders and pilgrims in large enough numbers to make it a trade center. Of course, Mecca is now best-known for being Islam's holiest city, and it is revered as the birthplace of Muhammad and the site where Allah first revealed the Qu'ran to him. However, the prophet spent a great deal of time in Medina, especially when he and his supporters found themselves in conflict with the Meccans. Using Medina as a base, Muhammad eventually took Mecca, and both cities became integral parts of the Caliphate that followed. This meant that even as history brought geopolitical changes, Medina remained a city of religious significance for all Muslims, and even though its turbulent history is often overlooked, many people are still quite familiar with the city. ungekürzt. The Critical Qur'an: Explained from Key Islamic Commentaries and Contemporary Historical Research
A unique resource for understanding the Islamic Holy Book. As Islamic terrorism becomes a distressingly common feature of life in North America and Europe, it has become increasingly important for non-Muslims to be aware of the ideology that animates and motivates jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women and others-an ideology that's rooted in Islam's holy book, the Qur'an. English-speaking people, however, have found attempts to understand the Qur'an and Islam impeded by unclear, densely worded translations and explanatory notes written by Islamic apologists attempting to conceal, rather than reveal, how Islamic jihadis use the texts and teachings of the Qur'an to justify violence and supremacism, and to make recruits of peaceful Muslims. The Critical Qur'an, in contrast, makes clear the passages that are used to incite violence. Historian and Islamic scholar Robert Spencer elucidates the Qur'anic text with extensive references to the principal tafsir, or commentaries, that mainstream Muslims use today to understand the Qur'an, showing how interpretations that sanction violence are unfortunately not outliers, but central in Islamic theology. The Critical Qur'an is the Islamic counterpart to numerous critical and skeptical editions of the Bible that have appeared over the last century and more. It is the one edition of Islam's book that doesn't shy away from elucidating why the holy book of Islam is so frequently quoted and referred to with reverence by people who commit and/or justify acts of violence. It is a basic resource for everyone who wishes to understand the persistent phenomenon of Islamic terrorism, and the peculiar provenance of this most provocative book.- Shop: buecher

In the Shade of the Sunna (eBook, ePUB)
Salafis explicitly base their legitimacy on continuity with the Quran and the Sunna, and their distinctive practices-praying in shoes, wearing long beards and short pants, and observing gender segregation-are understood to have a similarly ancient pedigree. In this book, however, Aaron Rock-Singer draws from a range of media forms as well as traditional religious texts to demonstrate that Salafism is a creation of the twentieth century and that its signature practices emerged primarily out of Salafis' competition with other social movements amid the intellectual and social upheavals of modernity. In the Shade of the Sunna thus takes readers beyond the surface claims of Salafism's own proponents-and the academics who often repeat them-into the larger sociocultural and intellectual forces that have shaped Islam's fastest growing revivalist movement.- Shop: buecher

The Age of Sacred Terror: Radical Islam's War Against America, Hörbuch, Digital, 373min
Daniel Benjamin and Steven Simon began working on this project shortly after leaving the National Security Council, where, as director and senior director for counterterrorism, they watched the rise of al Qaeda and helped coordinate America's fight against Usama bin Laden and his organization. They warned about the appearance of a new breed of terrorists who were determined to kill on the grand scale. More than a year before September 11, 2001, they began writing The Age of Sacred Terror to sound the alarm for a nation that had not recognized the gravest threat of our time. One of their original goals has remained: to provide the insights to understand an enemy unlike any seen in living memory - one with an extraordinary ability to detect weakness and exploit it, one with a determination to inflict catastrophic damage, one that will not be deterred. But after September 11, a second, equally crucial goal was added: to understand how America let its defenses down, how warnings went unheeded, and how key parts of the government failed at vital tasks. The Age of Sacred Terror also describes the road ahead, where the terrorists will look to draw strength, and what the United States must do to stop them. A year after the attacks America continues searching for answers about those responsible, and explanations for the glaring gaps in our defenses. The Age of Sacred Terror provides both with unique authority. Language: English. Narrator: Philip Bosco. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/rand/000224/bk_rand_000224_sample.mp3.
