    Gitta Lind wurde am 17. April 1925 in Trier geboren. Schon früh zeigte sich ihr musikalisches Talent, sie begann zunächst eine Ausbildung zur Ballettänzerin am Theater in Trier, danach ließ sie ihre Stimme im Koloratursopran ausbilden. 1948 bekam Gitta Lind ihren ersten Plattenvertrag. Blumen für die Dame, getextet von ihrem späteren Ehemann Joachim Fuchsberger, war ihr erster Hit. Diese Ehe wurde 1954 nach zweieinhalb Jahren wieder geschieden. Insgesamt war die Künstlerin viermal verheiratet. Gitta Lind unternahm neben ihren Plattenaufnahmen zahlreiche Tourneen, u.a. mit Vico Torriani und Renè Carol und trat auch in mehreren Musikfilmen und TV-Shows auf. Ihre Aufnahme von Weißer Holunder war 1956 ihr größter Solo-Erfolg und erreichte Platz 4 der deutschen Verkaufshitparade. Weitere erfolgreiche Titel waren Ich hab' dich so lieb (1957, Platz 5), Ich sage dir Adieu (1957, Platz 11), Schön war'n die Tage der Rosen mit Addy Andrigo (1958, Platz 24) und im Duett mit Christa Williams Immer will ich treu dir sein (My Happiness) der es 1959 sogar auf Platz 3 schaffte. Der Versuch, international unter dem Künstlernamen Issy Pat die Erfolge zu wiederholen, mißlang. Gitta Lind nahm in den Jahren 1958, 1960 und 1964 auch am Eurovision Song Contest teil. Anfang der 70er Jahre gründete sie gemeinsam mit ihrem Kollegen Fred Bertelmann Deutschlands erste Show-Schule in München. 1973 trat Gitta Lind bei Peter Frankenfeld zum letzten Mal im deutschen Fernsehen auf.     René Carol wurde am 11. April 1920 in Berlin geboren. Sein bürgerlicher Name war Gerhard Tschierschnitz. Er begann bei Telefunken in Berlin eine Mechanikerlehre. Bei Kriegsausbruch wurde er zur Luftwaffe eingezogen und geriet zum Kriegsende in französische Kriegsgefangenschaft, aus der er 1946 fliehen konnte. In Paris trat er in Nachtclubs auf, wo er einen gefälschten Paß auf den Namen Renè Carol organisierte, mit dem er nach Deutschland heimkehren konnte. 1949 fuhr er nach Köln, um dem Musikproduzenten Kurt Feltz vorzusingen, der ihm spontan einen Plattenvertrag anbot. 1953 erhielt René Carol für Rote Rosen, rote Lippen, roter Wein die erste Goldene Schallplatte im Nachkriegs-Deutschland für über 500.000 verkaufte Schallplatten. Es folgten viele weitere große Erfolge wie u.a. Deinen Namen den hab ich vergessen (1954, Platz 6), Das letzte Wort, das du mir sagtest (1954, Platz 11), O Wandersmann (1955, Platz 8), Kein Land kann schöner sein (1960, Platz 3) und Mitten im Meer (1960, Platz 14). In den 50er Jahren zählte er zu den Spitzenstars des deutschen Schlagers und galt als absoluter Frauenliebling mit seiner unverwechselbaren Stimme, selbst die holländische Königin Juliana gehörte zu seinen Fans. Bis 1973 veröffentlichte René Carol regelmäßig neue Schallplatten, die allerdings nicht mehr an die Verkaufserfolge der Anfangszeit heranreichten. Am 09.04.1978, zwei Tage vor seinem 58.
