The Little Prince (Grammy Award Winner "Best Children's Recording") narrated by Richard Burton is the most beloved and celebrated audio recording of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry classic French novella. Based on the original 1943 English translation, this one-hour abridged presentation, with sparkling music score, captures the timeless wisdom and charm of the iconic characters created by the world-renowned author. In addition to Richard Burton (who plays the Aviator) the audio recording features Jonathan Winters (as the King and Snake), John Carradine (as the Fox, Geographer, and Conceited Man), Jim Backus (as the Businessman, Tippler, and Railway Switchman), Claudine Longet (as the Flower), Mark Conrad (as the Lamplighter), and Billy Simpson (as The Little Prince). The poignant life-and-death odyssey begins when the Little Prince mysteriously appears in the Sahara Desert and says to a downed Aviator, "If you please, draw me a sheep". The startled Aviator complies, but his drawing is rejected, and a conversation ensues with the Little Prince asking numerous questions and telling stories about the very strange grown-ups encountered on his interplanetary journey to Earth. It is later revealed that the Little Prince must return home to asteroid B612 to care for his rose, the one (and only) flower on his small and desolate planet.... Saddened and confused by his conversations with grown-ups, the Little Prince is consoled when he tames a Fox who confides in him that "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye”. Was the Aviator's encounter with the Little Prince real or imagined? The question remains unanswered, but the story and lessons learned will forever live in the hearts and minds of children (and grown-ups) around the world who gaze up at the stars at night and wonder, what did become of the Little Prince and the flower that he loved? ungekürzt. Fast-paced, edge of your seat, absolute fun. The Jack Lazar Series has it all, from mystery and suspense to action, humor, and sensuality. Jack's best friend, Zachary Taylor, is roused out of bed in the middle of the night at his apartment in Paris and taken away at gunpoint, but not before he sends Jack a safety deposit key with a note saying he's in trouble. If only he had given a clue regarding the location of the box, its contents, or what the hell is going on. Jack tries to call, but Zach's cell phone goes straight to voicemail. Clearly, something sinister is afoot in the City of Lights. Jack heads for Paris to investigate, and in no time he's accosted by the bad guys. But Jack Lazar isn't the sort to back down, so he sets up shop in Zach's Paris flat on a mission to solve the mystery and find his friend. Sexy, French flight attendants are nothing but trouble. Enter Michele - one of Zach's many girlfriends in Paris. She's upset to discover Zach is missing, but her idea of being consoled is to shed her clothes, plant herself in Jack's arms, and mercilessly tantalize him. She's ostensibly off-limits, of course, which wedges Jack between his growing obsession with her and his allegiance to Zach. It's a sure prescription for disaster...and some really hot sex. Uh-oh. things just got more complicated. With a little ingenuity, Jack locates and opens the safety deposit box, but the only thing in there is an old bottle of Cognac. Still, it doesn't take long before people are chasing after it, and they're willing to kill for it, too. But the eau-de-vie is just the tip of the iceberg, and soon Jack finds himself working with French law enforcement and British Intelligence to stop something truly unthinkable. ungekürzt. The hilarious tale of the UK Independence Party's journey from rags to riches and back again from a front-line activist. Paul Oakley had five minutes of fame at a Young Conservative conference when he ripped up a copy of the Maastricht Treaty at the end of his speech attacking John Major's European policy. He stood for the Tories in the 2005 general election but failed to lie convincingly enough to be added to the A-list of candidates when David Cameron became party leader. So in 2011 he renounced his Tory membership in a fit of pique and joined UKIP. Although second-placed candidate on the UKIP London MEP list in 2014, his Brussels posting was thwarted. If the two counterfeit UKIP parties and backfolded ballot papers weren't enough, there was a killer blow. A false allegation of sexual assault by a homeless Bulgarian was made against his right-hand man which hit a tabloid front page on polling day. Commiserated by the party with the post of London regional enforcer, he then had to deal with all sorts of members' escapades, not least those of loose cannons Winston McKenzie and Islamosceptic Anne Marie Waters. Paul Oakley plotted with Nigel Farage and Arron Banks to knit a net for UKIP MP Douglas Carswell but that spoilsport left the party just before this net was cast and so cheated the hangman. Having cleverly wangled his way to take over as candidate for Carswell's Clacton seat, Oakley performed abysmally there in the 2017 general election and failed to be elected. Again. Consoled once more with the post of General Secretary which dealt with a higher calibre of misdemeanours, Oakley took on the solemn task of knifing then-leader Henry Bolton and forcing him from office. Paul Oakley is a firm supporter of new leader Gerard Batten who saved UKIP from bankruptcy in the face of a repugnant legal case and has increased membership by 50%. Yet he remains unconvinced of two things. Firstly, that Gerard's advisor Tommy Robinson is the ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Jack Wynters. The truth of God's love is a message many of us have always known, but we need to be reminded of it again and again. In our limited understanding, we have difficulty comprehending it. God has loved you with an everlasting love, and yet no matter how deeply we feel him in our lives, the word of God often goes unheard. This is why, in the noise of the modern world, the simplicity of his message is all too easily lost. Yet while our prayers have no answers we can hear, that does not mean God has no voice. The Voice of Divine Love brings his word to you, brings you the light of God's acceptance, the comfort of his presence and love, and a guiding hand to live your life in his service. It is a chance to hear his voice amongst the raucous chatter of the world and choose to follow his way to righteousness and eternal love. With this book, written in the hope of drawing others closer to God, helping them understand the depth of his love, and narrated as in the voice of the Almighty, you are provided a retreat in times of stress; not to simply hide from your problems, but to find their true purpose, alongside the purpose in all things. Close your eyes and rest, find solace in knowing that, even when you are alone, he is always at your side, guiding you and taking care of you, in ways no other can. And as you are consoled, as you hear the one guiding voice which no person's life should go without, you will find answers to the questions you have always yearned to ask: why does God allow pain into your life, why do your prayers go unanswered, your wishes unfulfilled? There is no need to turn inward, to torture yourself for these answers. Simply listen, and understand The Voice of Divine Love. These beautiful melodies by Chopin, the poet of the piano, show that everything he ever wrote is instantly recognizable and beloved all over the world. Chopin is the most performed composer in history because he understood human emotion. He smashed the convention that forbade a man from baring his soul to the multitude, and humanity continues to tremble and usually weep upon hearing his music, shaped to emulate the human voice. When Chopin burst upon the scene in Europe, Schumann wrote, 'Hat's off, gentlemen, a genius!' and in Paris, Chopin was taken by Prince Radziwell to the Rothchild's where he played his Waltz in C sharp minor and was an overnight sensation. He held his listeners spellbound with his virtuosity, his slim fingers easily reached a tenth and could quickly expand to cover a third of the keyboard. He untied the chords restrained in octaves and flung them up and down longing of the beseeching laments of man, and said himself that the musician without it did not have music as his mother tongue. Once he consoled a student, who in his fervor broke a string on a Polonaise, by telling the student that it was meant to be played so not a single string was left on the piano. The great Romantic period ended with the last note Chopin wrote. Many of the comments about Chopin are taken from Schirmer library and from "The Great Pianists" by Harold C. Schonberg. These works were performed on Steinway Hamburg 137, a 9-foot concert D. It has a stellar pedigree, having been chosen by Evgeny Kissen, Alicia de La Rocha, Lang Lang, Arnaldo Cohen and many other classical and jazz artists. It can overwhelm an orchestra. The recording was done at Digital Brothers Studio, Costa Mesa, California 92627.
