The four elements, regarded by ancient cultures as vital to the development of humanity, have long been interpreted as components of life and death, effectively encapsulating transformative cycles through their continual promotion of balance and imbalance. Welcome to the genetically modified rock sound of Scottish band Nobody Else, created as a vehicle for the music of songwriting team Annette and Callum Chapman. Their songs have a melodic quality while still being hard hitting and energetic. Annette and Callum Chapman formed the band Nobody Else in 2008 as a vehicle for their songs. Callum had been writing on his own for many years but it was only when teaming up with Annette that the songs began to take on the distinctive sound that they exhibit now. Callum's music has always been unashamedly steeped in the Blues and this is still evident but the music being written now is absolutely Rock. Annette's melodies are influenced by her classical singing training and her ability to use an extensive vocal range to bring the songs to life. Add to this, lyrics which resonate with an audience on a personal level, and you have songs that offer something a little different. The building blocks of their music are far from unique but the structure created is interesting and greater than the sum of it's parts. Working with the young, energetic and talented musicians, Calum Gardner on drums and Scott Waterson on Bass, the band have settled into a combo which is musically impressive. Live, Annette and the band deliver these songs with verve, energy, enthusiasm and a real love of performing.
