After London can be seen as an early example of post-apocalyptic fiction: after some sudden and unspecified catastrophe has depopulated England, the countryside reverts to nature, and the few survivors to a quasi-medieval way of life. The audiobook has two parts. The first, The Relapse into Barbarism, is the account by some later historian of the fall of civilisation and its consequences, with a loving description of nature reclaiming England: fields becoming overrun by forest, domesticated animals running wild, roads and towns becoming overgrown, the hated London reverting to lake and poisonous swampland. The second part, Wild England, is largely a straightforward adventure set many years later in the wild landscape and society (here too Jefferies was setting an example for the genre); but the opening section, despite some improbabilities, has been much admired for its rigour and compelling narrative. John Richard Jefferies (6 November 1848 – 14 August 1887) was an English nature writer, noted for his depiction of English rural life in essays, books of natural history, and novels. His childhood on a small Wiltshire farm had a great influence on him and provides the background to all his major works of fiction. For all that, these show a remarkable diversity, including Bevis (1882), a classic children's book, and After London (1885), an early work of science fiction. ungekürzt. Language: English. The Holy Spirit and Public Life offers a masterful analysis of the intersections between pneumatology and public theology as well as contemporary Christianity and 'secular' society. Examining issues from race to domestic violence with compassion as well as critical rigour, Mark J. Cartledge, one of the UK's leading authorities on the Pentecostal/Charismatic Movement, skilfully anchors his argument in both the biblical text and insight and empirical data from the contemporary world. His deep appreciation of the many ways in which the Christian faith inspires and empowers transformative social engagement will motivate and mould the rising commitment among Pentecostals and Charismatics to live the gospel in the public square, in the power of the Spirit. Finally, Cartledge proposes that the church engage with society by "being truthful with love." This posture provides the integrating center for the life of the church and its mission in the world.

The HAZOP Leader's Handbook is designed specifically to help HAZOP leaders plan and execute successful HAZOP studies, based on the author's many years of experience of participating in, observing and facilitating HAZOP studies, as well as observing, training, mentoring and assessing HAZOP leaders. The book assumes that the reader understands the methodology and has experienced HAZOP meetings and does not seek to explain the methodology itself. Rather, it focuses on the application of the methodology and the responsibilities and skills of the HAZOP leader in the preparation, execution and reporting of the study. Although the principal subject is HAZOP, much of the content equally applies to other facilitated hazard identification techniques such as Hazard Identification (HAZID) or Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). The prime purpose of this book is to provide guidance specific to HAZOP leaders to help them to maximise the effectiveness of their HAZOP studies, thereby getting the most benefit from the methodology, promoting consistency and rigour in its application and sustaining its well-earned reputation.
