This book offers insight into the motives behind Moscow's behaviour in the Persian Gulf (with a specific focus on the GCC member states and Iran), considering Russia's growing role in the Middle East and its desire to protect national interests using a wide range of means. The book explores the drivers and motivations of the Russian foreign policy in the Gulf region, thus, helping the audience to generate informed prognosis about Moscow's moves in this area over the next years. In contrast to most studies of Russia's presence in the region, this book considers the Russian involvement in the Gulf from two standpoints - the Russian and foreign. The idea of the book is to take several key problems of Moscow's presence in the Gulf, each of these to be covered by two authors-Russian and non-Russian scholars, in order to offer the readers alternative visions of Moscow's policies towards Iran and the GCC countries

Persuasion provides information that we take in and listen to, but we do not always question. When we process information, we do our best to run through all aspects of our brain to find a solution or further expand on a thought. We look at our past and relate what we learned to something we already know. The information might spark more curiosity, causing us to question it and then can influence us to do something or persuade us to think a certain way. When making decisions, we do our best to inform ourselves, but we do not automatically look at all the outcomes. If you have to decide between purchasing a red shirt or a blue shirt, you might first just look at the shirt you like more and go with it. You may also consider other aspects. For example, you could consider that you have blue eyes that get brighter while wearing blue, or maybe, you want to go with the red one because you do not wear that color as often.  With different decisions come different deciding factors and lengths of time in which we question aspects. When we have any trouble making decisions, we look to other people to help out, which is often when we become influenced by people who are quicker with tactics that go unnoticed by us. There is a lot of room for influence in the brain, so it is important to recognize how the process works.  Our brains are very complex and can still be greatly influenced by many different factors. Like with the shirt, the color might be an instant deciding factor, or perhaps, it could be the price or the location of the store. As an influencer, you know how to look at factors from all standpoints.  You can determine the deciding factors for people before they can so that you are better equipped to develop persuasive solutions. You know what someone might think before they do, so you have created a solution for them. When you appear to be someone with answers, it will help individuals who have trouble making decisions look to you for help, ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Stephen M. Gillikin. This book traces, assesses and compares the history of conscientious objection - in the cultural context of six common law nations - from refusal of military service and a range of similar moral dilemmas, to objecting to abortion, to the current social polarisation surrounding vaccination hesitancy in the COVID-19 pandemic. It considers the impact of this form of dissent in relation to social movements like Black Lives Matter, social activists such as Gandhi, and whistle blowers like Daniel Ellsberg. It reflects on the relationships between the sacred and the secular, the state and the citizen, in order to better understand the responsibilities of citizenship in our increasingly secular societies. It analyses what defines the conscientiousness of an objection from both legal and ethical standpoints. It examines what constitutes a matter of conscience, why this should justify exemption from civic duties and why this form of dissent has such a time-honoured status. It explores the increased reliance on "grounds of religion, belief or conscience" as providing justification for excusing some citizens from complying with certain responsibilities - mandated by equality and non-discrimination legislation - that are binding for all others.By conducting a comparative evaluation of national law and judicial rulings on a fixed agenda of issues, this book identifies key jurisdictional differences concerning conscientious objection. In so doing, it highlights the importance of cultural context and constructs a jurisdiction-specific overview of legislation, policies and case law. By tracking policy developments and highlighting crucial judicial rulings - particularly in the US - it provides insights into the probable future direction of developments in national law relating to conscientious objection.Lastly, the book draws attention to some of the potential consequences of manifesting dissent by opting out of performing public services - e.g. the possible local breakdown of specific service availability (e.g. abortion, officiating at same-sex marriages, and immunisation); prompting population movements as established democratic civil rights are locally negated (reproductive rights, LGBT rights, right to health protection); fragmenting society into a geographic patchwork of regions in which some citizens are branded as conservative/reactionary and others as progressive; and fuelling the culture wars - with profound implications for a coherent democratic society.

Hover is Kastadyne's second album. After the critical acclaim of their debut album Eleven Complaints, Kastadyne have honed their songwriting skills as well as their instrumentation in the last 3 years. The college duo has 'grown up' and the songs reflect a deepened awareness - musically and lyrically. While songs like 'Digging deep down' and 'These are the people' are familiar rants, angst-ridden and catchy in Kastadyne-style, other songs like 'Bricks' and 'Ghosts' cover genuinely new musical territory for the band in terms of electronica-based textures in addition to rock guitars. The pop-rock compositions 'Evil woman' and 'You are the light' comfortably co-exist with the genre-unclassifiable ones like 'Mortal moonlight...' and 'Creeping beauty'. And for sheer acoustic relief, power and political sarcasm there is 'Flamboyant citizen'. Musically and lyrically, Hover goes beyond where 'Eleven Complaints' left off. The musical ground covered, as mentioned, is new and exciting. And lyrically, there are personal and political standpoints, emotional hangups and love, lost and won. It is a typical Kastadyne combination - deep and thoughtful lyrics playing themselves out with musical surprise and no signs of drabness or cliches. Hover is refreshing Kastadyne once again. Enjoy!
