    Die demografische Entwicklung zeigt einen eindeutigen Wandel von einer jungen zu einer demografisch alten Gesellschaft. Dieser wird in der öffentlichen Diskussion als Problem verstanden. Das vorliegende Buch erläutert das Quartierskonzept und stellt es als ein geeignetes Instrument dar, um diesem Problem entgegenzuwirken. Außerdem geht es der Frage nach, welche Strukturen geschaffen werden müssen, um ein Quartierskonzept in einer Gemeinde mit circa 3.300 BürgerInnen umsetzen zu können. Im ersten Teil des Buches wird das Quartierskonzept erläutert und anschließend wird am Beispiel der Gemeinde Leogang aufgezeigt, welche konkreten Schritte und Maßnahmen notwendig sind dies umzusetzen. Hauptergebnis ist, dass die Gesellschaft diesbezüglich wesentlich kleinräumiger und lokaler denken muss als bisher. Für Leogang zeigte sich konkret, dass in der Gemeinde bereits sehr viele gute Ansätze vorhanden sind, jedoch für die einzelnen Teile die Vernetzung fehlt. Die durchgeführte Ist-Analyse ermöglichte die Identifizierung von Entwicklungspotentialen und die Benennung konkreter Handlungsfelder sowie die Erstellung eines Vorgehensplanes für die Gemeinde Leogang.
