Since her divorce two years before, Kelsie Collins has been determined to guard her heart and steer clear of seemingly "perfect" men. It's an easy task considering the kind of men her matchmaking mother and her best friend, Nanci, keep setting her up with. She allows them to set her up, knowing their hearts are in the right place and that there is no risk of her letting any man close enough to hurt her again. Her growing experience in ways to slip out of those "dates from hell" prompts her to start writing a bad date survival guide: the aptly-titled Operation: Date Escape. And it's during one of those escapes that sexier-than-sin firefighter Cole Maxwell comes to her rescue. Cole isn't sure what to think when the sexy redhead he's just "rescued" from a bad date informs him that he's too "perfect" to date. That's a first. He's had relationships end because the women couldn't handle the risks that go along with his chosen profession, but never because he's too perfect. When his crew gets called out to rescue someone who is stuck in a tree, Cole finds himself once again coming to Kelsie's rescue. This time he's not about to let her get away without agreeing to give him a chance, even holding her high heels hostage to make it happen. She finally gives in and things heat up between them like a three-alarm fire. But there's more than passion between them, and Cole sets out to prove to Kelsie that he's nowhere near "perfect" but he is the "perfect" man for her. Can he get past the wall she's built up around her heart? Or will he end up being just another chapter in her book of men she ran from? ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Therese Plummer. The rich musical legacy of Ian and Sylvia continues to entertain millions of fans across the globe, and today singer songwriter, painter, and essayist Tom Russell announced a project honouring their music with new interpretations of classic songs with his May 19th release of Play One More: The Songs Of Ian And Sylvia. Russell has recorded 35 highly acclaimed records, & published five books - including a book on his art and a book of his songs. Russell and Ian and Sylvia share similar values and cultural traditions both deeply rooted in the depth of the song and story. Russell says, The music of Ian and Sylvia has stood up over a half of a century and is still recognized as deeply Canadian, it was an honour to pay tribute to them. In 1992, Ian and Sylvia were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the Juno Awards ceremony. In 1994 they were both made Members of the Order of Canada. In 2005 an extensive CBC poll determined Ian Tyson's song, recorded by Ian and Sylvia, Four Strong Winds, to be the most essential piece of Canadian music, and is no doubt the most popular Canadian song ever written. But don t look for it on Play One More: The Songs of Ian and Sylvia. Russell says, I wanted to mine the deep, neglected, album tracks that I've listened to for over forty years. Works that I could never get out of my mind. Classic songwriting. Russell s songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Doug Sahm, Nanci Griffith, K.D. Lang, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Ian Tyson, Iris Dement, Joe Ely, and a hundred others. In 2015 Russell released a 52 track folk opera on the West, The Rose of Roscrae, which was hailed as Maybe the most important Americana record of all time by UK Folk, and The top Folk album of 2105, by Mojo Magazine. It was included in top ten lists in three dozen publications, including The Los Angeles Times. TRACKS: 1. Wild Geese 2. Thrown to the Wolves 3. Rio Grande 4. The Night the Chinese Restaurant Burned Down 5. Play One More 6. Old Cheyenne 7. Short Grass 8. Sam Bonnifield's Saloon 9. These Friends of Mine 10. Red Velvet 11. The Renegade 12. JUNO-nominated Canadian blues legend Big Dave McLean swears he didn't set out to make a record with a theme, but there are a lot of spiritual references on his brand new Steve Dawson-produced recording, Better the Devil you Know. From gospel-tinged blues numbers to tributes to dearly departed loved ones, the songs on this album betray Dave's roots as the son of a Presbyterian minister - while also giving the Devil his due, figuratively speaking. Blackie and the Rodeo Kings' rhythm section of John Dymond and Gary Craig bring their kick-ass roots-rock sensibilities to the mix. Legendary Nashville string player Fats Kaplin (Mark Knopfler, Waylon Jennings, the Mavericks, Nanci Griffith) plays heartfelt mandolin and fiddle. And Ann and Regina McCrary's soulful backing vocals help contribute to the gospel feel of Deliver Me and You're Gonna Need Somebody on Your Bond. Ever since getting his start with an impromptu guitar lesson from John Hammond at the 1969 Mariposa Folk Festival, this Yorkton-born, Winnipeg-based artist has been devoted to his craft, touring relentlessly through Canada's blues bars, folk clubs and folk and blues festivals. Along the way, there have been career highs: opening for his idol, Muddy Waters, earning two WCMAs, a Prairie Music Award, a Whisky Award and countless Maple Blues honours - including the Blues with Feeling (lifetime achievement) Award, sharing a JUNO for his contribution to CBC's Saturday Night Blues Vol. 1 album, and, most recently, garnering his third career JUNO nod for his last album, Faded but not Gone. With Better the Devil you Know, Dave continues to set an example for new generations of musicians by constantly evolving his sound, embracing new artistic collaborations and making records that just keep getting better and better. TRACKS: 1. Life On The Road 2. You Can't Lose What You Ain't Never Had 3. You'll Need Somebody On Your Bond 4. Angeline 5. I Need You 6. Where The Music Comes From 7. Old Time Religion 8. Swingin' On Heaven's Gate 9. Deliver Me 10. Deep Down In Florida 11. The Side Of The Road 12. Talk About A Revelation 13. Pet Rabbit

Gentle As The Sun is an album of original songs by Naomi Sommers, with one cover of a sixties country song, 'Sea Of Heartbreak'. Bluegrass, folk and alt-rock come together in the arrangements of these songs. Producer Jim Rooney (John Prine, Iris Dement, Nanci Griffith, Bonnie Raitt), has assembled an all-star cast of Nashville musicians as Naomi's backup band, recorded and engineered by David Fergusson (who recorded all of Johnny Cash/Rick Rubin's American albums, plus much more). **UPDATE: If you want to place an order for the CD directly from American Melody, you are welcome to call 1-203-457-0881. Ask for Phil, or just say, 'Hey, I want to order Naomi's new CD.' We'll be happy to hear from you. About Naomi: With roots in bluegrass, the blues, jazz, traditional folk, and old-time country, singer/songwriter Naomi Sommers is emerging as an exciting voice on the music scene. She grew up in a New England home full of music and instruments, performing since middle school with her parents and brother in the Sommers Rosenthal Family Band. Naomi's recording career started at age 5 when she sang her first harmony parts on an album of bluegrass music for children. Over the years she has sung and played flute, banjo, piano, and guitar on more than 15 records released on her father Phil's independent American Melody label, and has lent vocal and flute tracks to numerous recordings by other artists. In addition to the folk and bluegrass music she picked up at home, Naomi performed in orchestras and wind ensembles as a classically trained flutist, sang jazz with her brother Daniel Rosenthal's quartets since high school, and joined the gospel choir during college. After studying literature and music at the University of Connecticut, Naomi devoted herself full-time to writing and performing. She moved to Boston in 2001 to began a solo career. She played at favorite local venues including Club Passim, where she endeared herself to music fans and fellow musicians alike, and began lasting collaborations. She toured throughout the U.S. with songwriter Noam Weinstein as the duo Broken Dreams, and later followed some of the same routes as a Gray Sky Girl with Lisa Bastoni. In 2004, Naomi traveled to Texas to participate as a finalist in Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk Songwriting Competition. More recently, Naomi was invited to be part of an upcoming PBS documentary, "On The Record," hosted by Sir George Martin and narrated by Kevin Spacey. She traveled to the home of Jean Ritchie to play a few songs with the influential folk singer and songwriter on film for the series. In July 2008, Naomi performed one of her songs at the GRAMMY Foundation's Starry Night Fundraiser in honor of Sir George Martin (producer of the Beatles and many others). At the event in Los Angeles, she shared the stage with Jeff Beck, Burt Bacharach, Chris Body, Tom Jones, Jimmie Webb and others. Since 2002, Naomi has put out three albums on American Melody. Two of these were solo albums, featuring original songs with eclectic backup by her family and other outstanding musicians. In 2006, she released a mesmerizing album of traditional and original "old-time country slowgrass" with the Gray Sky Girls. Now in 2008, Naomi has just released an album recorded in Nashville, produced by the acclaimed musician/producer Jim Rooney (John Prine, Iris Dement, Nanci Griffith, Bonnie Raitt). She is thrilled to present this collection of songs, accompanied by some of Nashville's finest musicians in addition to a few of her trusted friends and family.

KACIE EDWARDS BIO Kacie Edwards was born in the beautiful Bluegrass state of Kentucky, which still remains her home. Although, no other members of her family performed, Kacie was blessed with that divine spark that made her realize from her young age that she wanted to be a performer. She began singing at five years old, and by age 11, she started training in opera. It may be this early training that helped to develop her rangy voice and her ability to hold impossibly long notes. A fact that has had seasoned professionals step back in wonder. Kacie's early music influences show that eclectic taste that is still a part of her make up. Elvis Presley, Jim Reeves, Peggy Lee, Brenda Lee, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Jeanette MacDonald, Slim Whitman, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette. In her teenage years, she enjoyed the music of Pink Floyd, Mike Oldfield and the Rolling Stones. Kacie first performed professionally in 1994. At the time, she was singing Country and Easy Rock. She came to the attention of Patty Loveless's manager, Ray Ferguson who introduced who some while later introduced her to industry veteran, Barry McCloud. He produced some sides on her but they both knew that Kacie's time had not yet arrived. It would take a few more years for that time to arrive. In 2010, the two teamed up again via the social network, Facebook and in the ensuing years, Kacie had grown from a talented amateur to a mind blowing professional. With this maturity came a musical development that embraced Blue-Eyed Soul, Power Pop and Jazz. Barry McCloud immediately signed her to both a management and production agreement with the full conviction that the entertainment world needed to hear and see Kacie Edwards. Kacie lists as her leisure activities, swimming and horseback riding. She also enjoys cooking and her chili is to die for. She is an animal lover and also enjoys painting statues. In 2000, Kacie Edwards rededicated her life and this gave her a more positive view on life. She holds a very humanist view of her fellow man and woman. "To me we are all equal. We are all created the same and we should treat each other with kindness and respect and wherever you can lend a helping hand you should do so." Her words are not hollow. In 2010, she recorded "The Gift of Christmas" to benefit the National Hemophilia Foundation. On hearing the single, people have been reduced to tears when they hear the sincerity in Kacie's voice as she appeals for understanding for those less fortunate. Kacie is now recording her debut album, "Act I" and Barry McCloud has gathered the cream of Nashville's session players who are thoroughly relishing playing on a non-Country CD. These include: Chris Leuzinger : Guitar (Formerly with Garth Brooks) Jim Kirby : Piano (Formerly with Roy Orbison) Andrea Zonn : Violin and Viola (Formerly with Vince Gill and James Taylor & Carole King) Jonathan Yudkin : Cello (Has played with Rascal Flatts, Shelby Lynne, Bon Jovi, Carrie Underwood, Jewel, Kelly Clarkson, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift and Faith Hill) John Catchings : Cello (Played with Randy Crawford, Faith Hill, Bob Seger, Jars of Clay, Amy Grant, Martina McBride, CeCe Winans, KT Tunstall, Kim Carnes, BackStreet Boys, Bon Jovi and Ben Folds) Jim Hoke : Tenor, Alto and Soprano Saxes and Flute (Played with, among many others, Bob Seger, Bonnie Raitt, Martina McBride, Alan Jackson, Mark Knopfler, Jimmy Buffett and Andy Williams) Steve Herrman : Flugelhorn and Trumpet (Played with Craig Morgan, Waylon Jennings, Kenny Chesney, Johnny Reid, Vince Gill and Brooks & Dunn) Mike Dunbar : Bass Guitar (Razzy Bailey) Pat McInerney : Drums (Formerly with Don Williams, Nanci Griffith and played with Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Doc Watson, Jerry Lee Lewis and Dolly Parton etc.) The Jordanaires (YES The Legendary Jordanaires) : Background Vocals David LeSigns and LeAnn Steinhauer: Background Vocals.

I was the kid in 'Almost Famous,' dabbling in rock criticism in college and studying musical minutae but ultimately giving it up to find my own musical path. I've been writing songs and gigging since my SUNY Potsdam days in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I was raised on the Beatles, however, it was my discovery of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen in the mid-1970s that fueled my desire to create music. Through them I learned that music could be more than entertainment, it could provide an avenue for expression and act as an agent of change. Bruce and Dylan also led me to other great artists. By tracing their influences, I found my way to Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams. My style of music is either rock and roll with a twang or country with a rock-and-roll edge. It depends on the audience, the venue, or my mood at any given time. Many of my favorite songwriters hail from Texas. These include Steve Earle, Guy Clark, Nanci Griffith, and Townes Van Zandt. Other Other influences include John Hiatt, Nick Lowe, and Tom T. Hall. I have played in various Long Island bands since the mid-1980s, among them the Rockerfellers, the Lincolns, Roy Wilson's Honky Tonk Boys, and Good Dog Nigel (named after a particularly twisted John Lennon poem). I have recorded three CDs, 'Every Country Road . . . Every City Street,' 'Departures and Arrivals,' and the unreleased 'Nice Problem to Have.' My wife Linda and I live on Long Island with our thre cats Fonzie, Mookie, and Ella. Influences: My big four: Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Presley, and the Beatles. After that, in no particular order: John Fogerty, Neil Young, Chuck Berry, Rolling Stones, The Band, Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, Rockpile, Los Lobos, The Jayhawks, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Tom T. Hall, Buddy Holly, Joe Ely, Townes Van Zandt, Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Nanci Griffith, The Mavericks, Tom Waits, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakam, Gram Parsons, Woody Guthrie, Eagles, Rodney Crowell, Guy Clark, Everly Brothers, Roger Miller, George Strait, Eddie Cochran, Ray Davies, Ron Sexsmith, Chris Isaak, Sam Cooke, John Prine, Roy Orbison, Ryan Adams, The Smithereens, Squeeze, Jimmy Cliff, James Maddock, the Decemberists, Brendan Benson, Elton John.
