The period covered by these recordings was a momentous one for Fritz Kreisler as the ascent of the Nazis meant he was frozen out of German musical life. In 1930 he had managed to rerecord a long sequence of titles in HMV's Berlin studios that had been unsuccessfully attempted in New York, and included here are three test pressings, unpublished on shellac. In London in 1935, Kreisler along with specially selected colleagues recorded his String Quartet in A minor, a work close to his heart.- Shop: odax

Die englischen Garage-Rocker mit siebtem Album, produziert von Steve Albini (Shellac)The Cribs sind eine Indie-Rock Band aus Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. Die Band besteht aus den Zwillingen Gary und Ryan Jarman und deren jüngerem Bruder Ross Jarman. De Single Hey Scenesters! war in der US-Serie O.C., California zu hören. 2007 erschien das dritte Album, das von Franz-Ferdinand-Frontman Alex Kapranos in Vancouver, Kanada produziert wurde. und welches u. a. die wohl bekannteste Single Men's Needs beinhaltet. Im August 2008 wurde Johnny Marr (Modest Mouse, The Smiths) als zweiter Gitarrist und vollwertiges viertes Bandmitglied bestätigt. 2011 verließ Marr die Band wieder. Während die Band in Großbritannien bereits einige Erfolge gefeiert hat und auch in den USA schon bekannt sind, hält sich der Bekanntheitsgrad in Deutschland noch in Grenzen.
