A survive-and-thrive memoir from blogger and social media influencer Laura Jane Williams. When the man Laura Jane Williams thought she'd wed dumped her and married her friend, she was devastated. Empty. Drinking too much, sleeping around, and moving from place to place in a refusal to put down roots, she tried to fill the void - the gaping hole - that heartbreak had left behind. She wanted control. To grab life by the balls. To live boldly. But she rapidly learned it wasn't that simple. Resolving that life couldn't go on as it was - that the backlog of men and sadness that haunted her would not define her - Laura declared a yearlong vow of celibacy, ultimately finding herself in a Riviera convent as she slowly put the pieces of herself back together. An honest exploration of a young woman's soul and a road trip through Italy, America, Paris and...Derby, Becoming is a book that makes you laugh and makes you cry, but most of all? It makes you realise that even when the going gets tough, no one is really f--king up like they think they are. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Laura Jane Williams. An inspiring true story of love, hope, and victory—and of one woman who was determined to make a difference in the wake of a crime. On August 6, 1993, twenty-year-old Natasha Alexenko was assaulted at gunpoint. After nearly a decade, her backlogged rape kit was finally tested and her rapist, who roamed free for ten years, was brought to justice. On the day he was sentenced, Alexenko vowed that she would no longer be a statistic and would do whatever she could to help police on behalf of other rape victims. In 2011, she founded Natasha’s Justice Project (NJP), a nonprofit committed to ending the rape-kit backlog. This unflinching memoir chronicles her journey from trauma to triumph. Despite personal setbacks and bureaucratic obstacles, Alexenko refuses to give up on her determination to raise awareness of a problem even worse than she imagined, as tens of thousands of untested rape kits languish in crime storage facilities across the country. Written for fellow survivors, their families, law enforcement, and anyone impacted by rape, her deeply personal story is a testament to the power of one person to make a profound change. ungekürzt. “How do I make my user stories smaller?” “What is the right size for a user story?” “What is the difference between an Epic and a Story? And where do Tasks and Sub-Tasks fit in?” “Who writes user stories?” “Why user stories?” "Do I have to use user stories?" Allan Kelly found himself answering these questions, and similar ones, again and again so...he sat down to write the answers and this book was born. In this book Allan discusses the role of user stories: they are not requirements, they are tokens for work to be done and a placeholder for a conversation. He gives his two golden rules: stories must be small and they must be beneficial to the business - further he describes what beneficial is, how to put a value on a story, and how to maximize the return on investment. He gives particular attention to the difference between requirements and specification and how these ideas line up with user stories and acceptance criteria. Along the way he takes epics, tasks, definition of done, backlog structuring, acceptance tests, and much else. In short, it's a little audiobook about user stories and all that goes with them. ungekürzt. Product owner - your job just got easier. Thank you and congratulations on taking this class, Agile Product Management: Product Manager vs Scrum Product Owner. When you have taken this class, you will understand the similarities and differences between traditional product management and scrum product ownership. In order to develop a product from original concept to working model, many factors must be taken into consideration. Clients and stakeholders might have a clear idea of what they want and when they want it. In such cases, it is the product owner's responsibility to clarify all of the details and enable the development team to generate the final product as quickly and inexpensively as possible. If the client and stakeholders are not as certain about what it is that they want, the product owner has the added responsibilities of helping them to figure out what they want and articulating this to the developers. In each segment of a development project the roles and responsibilities of product managers and product owners differ substantially. In each class, we will examine a component of product development and identify the different ways that these two roles approach them. In this class you will learn: An overview of the two product development methods How to manage requirements as a product owner as opposed to a traditional product manager How to plan a project as a product owner versus a traditional product manager How to schedule a project as a product owner as opposed to a traditional product manager Common methods for budgeting a project as a product owner versus that of a traditional product manager Tips for becoming a product owner in your team or business Now let us move forward and let me help you to learn the differences between a traditional product manager and a scrum product owner. ungekürzt. I wrote this book following two months of intensive research and tweaking to establish myself on Goodreads. It's a difficult site to get used to and many authors give up and move on to other things. But Goodreads presents massive opportunities to authors. There are over 20 million members (and rising, fast) and they are all passionate readers - the very people authors need. This audiobook makes it quick and easy to authors to understand how to use Goodreads and how to use it as part of their author platform. It has great reviews and the personal messages I get from grateful authors are very touching. I believe it will do well as an audiobook because it does very well on both the Kindle and print platforms and audio will give authors who travel, commute, or do a lot of waiting an opportunity to take in the knowledge without having to invest their precious time in absorbing yet another book! I've taken myself to audiobooks and podcasts because, as an author, I have such a big backlog of books to read and review that reading now seems like work. Audio is more fun, somehow, and I'm building my audiobook collection as quickly as I built my Kindle collection! From research, other authors are doing the same. ungekürzt. Language: English.
