The pistol appeared in his hand the way a dove appears in the hand of a good magician, as if it materialized out of thin air. "You think I won’t do it right here in the open. But you’d be surprised.... You’ll drop before you get the breath to scream." The truck driver is decked out like a rhinestone cowboy, only instead of a guitar he’s slinging a gun - and Odd Thomas is on the wrong end of the barrel. Though he narrowly dodges a bullet, Odd can’t outrun the shocking vision burned into his mind...or the destiny that will drive him into a harrowing showdown with absolute evil. How do you make sure a crime that hasn’t happened yet, never does? That’s the critical question facing Odd Thomas, the young man with a unique ability to commune with restless spirits and help them find justice and peace. But this time, it’s the living who desperately need Odd on their side. Three helpless innocents will be brutally executed unless Odd can intervene in time. Who the potential victims are and where they can be found remain a mystery. The only thing Odd knows for sure is who the killer will be: the homicidal stranger who tried to shoot him dead in a small-town parking lot. With the ghost of Alfred Hitchcock riding shotgun and a network of unlikely allies providing help along the way, Odd embarks on an interstate game of cat and mouse with his sinister quarry. He will soon learn that his adversary possesses abilities that may surpass his own and operates in service to infinitely more formidable foes, with murder a mere prelude to much deeper designs. Traveling across a landscape haunted by portents of impending catastrophe, Odd will do what he must and go where his path leads him, drawing ever closer to the dark heart of his long journey - and, perhaps, to the bright light beyond. ungekürzt. Candy is nervous but also turned on when her boyfriend wants for them to enjoy each other out in the middle of the nature preserve. It seems exciting and sexy and a little bit slutty. Of course, she’s worried what might happen if someone sees her. But then someone does! Somehow, that just turns on Candy more. Now she’s not only enjoying her boyfriend. She’s also putting on a show!Warning: This audiobook contains very explicit descriptions of sexual activity and includes sex in public, rough sex, deepthroat, exhibitionism, voyeurism and more. Only mature adults should listen to this audiobook and only if they don’t find explicit content such as this offensive. Here is a preview! When he closed his lips over her nipple, Candy became very aware of Nathan as well.Sex outdoors. She realized with slight shock that even though the two had traveled to this location with that exact purpose in mind, she really hadn’t believed it would happen until now, until her dress lay beside the rug in the grass and soil and she stood wearing only her skimpy lingerie with Nathan’s hands moving over her body and his mouth sending ripples of sensation through her body as his lips sucked and his tongue flicked. She felt urgency growing and while she never would have thought of herself as adventurous, she was pretty sure if there was a crowd of five hundred onlookers right at that moment she’d be glad to let him take her any way she wanted.Of course, she hadn’t simply materialized with her boyfriend on a patch of ground right out in the open ready to tear each other’s clothes off. When Nathan first suggested she sleep with him outdoors, the idea had been absolutely shocking. Well, at least Candy thought it should have been shocking. When he made the suggestion, she’d definitely felt the need to be shocked but the thrill that ran through her when the words came out of his mouth was undeniable. She wanted to play at least a little hard to get but she d ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Victoria Ward. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/159938/bk_acx0_159938_sample.mp3. The Darkest Jungle tells the harrowing story of America's first ship canal exploration across a narrow piece of land in Central America called the Darien, a place that loomed large in the minds of the world's most courageous adventurers in the nineteenth century. With rival warships and explorers from England and France days behind, the 27-member U.S. Darien Exploring Expedition landed on the Atlantic shore at Caledonia Bay in eastern Panama to begin their mad dash up the coast-hugging mountains of the Darien wilderness. The whole world watched as this party attempted to be the first to traverse the 40-mile isthmus, the narrowest spot between the Atlantic and Pacific in all the Americas. Leading them was the charismatic commander Isaac Strain, an adventuring 33-year-old U.S. Navy lieutenant. The party could have turned back except, said Strain, they were to a man "revolted at the idea" of failing at a task they seemed destined to accomplish. Yet Strain's party would wander lost in the jungle for another sixty nightmarish days, following a tortuously contorted and uncharted tropical river. Their guns rusted in the damp heat, expected settlements never materialized, and the lush terrain provided little to no sustenance. As the unending march dragged on, the party was beset by flesh-embedding parasites and a range of infectious tropical diseases they had no antidote for (or understanding of). In the desperate final days, in the throes of starvation, the survivors flirted with cannibalism and the sickest men had to be left behind so, as the journal keeper painfully recorded, the rest might have a chance to live. Based on the vividly detailed log entries of Strain and his officers, other period sources, and Balf's own treks in the Darien Gap, this is a rich and utterly compelling historical narrative that will thrill readers who enjoyed In the Heart of the Sea, Isaac's Storm, and other sagas of adventure at the limits of human endurance. ungekürzt. Not heard of Paul Sykes? Mentioned in the book Legends by Charles Bronson, an A to Z guide of the men Bronson had regarded to be the toughest in Britain. Referring to "Sykesy", Bronson describes him as "a Legend, Born and Bred" and writing: "I first met Sykes in Liverpool in the early 70s and at that time he was probably the fittest Con in Britain. A notorious hard man from Yorkshire, a fighting man in every sense. A lot of people never liked him, perhaps they even feared him but I respected the man for what he stood for." Bronson goes on to relate an incident said to have taken place in HMP Liverpool, where Sykes "allegedly" killed the prison's cat and fashioned it into a "Davey Crocket" style hat, I think you get the gist! Sykes had also been billed to fight Lenny Mclean at London's Rainbow Theatre on November 20, 1979, but this fight never materialized. Lenny Mclean, in his autobiography The Guv'nor, later explained: "A week before the off, Sykes went into a club in Wakefield where he lives, got well p-ssed and had a ruck with four doormen. He did them all but one of them got lucky and put a cut above his eye that took eight stitches to pull together" and the fight was off. Sykes, Paul; b. May 23, 1946, only son of Walter Sykes and Betty Barlow, market and shop retailers, Wakefield, Yorkshire. Represented England and County at every amateur boxing level. Contested the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight title as a professional. Holder of Distinction and bar, Royal Life-Saving Society. Qualified football referee. Holder of the British amateur weightlifting record, deep knee bend 5001/2lb. Much travelled in the UK Prison System: 25 transfers in 20 years to three prison regions, 11 prisons and three special wings. Educ: Snapethorpe Secondary Modern, Wakefield Technical College. City and Guilds Bricklaying 1966 and 1975. BA (physical sciences) OPen University (1982). His novel Sweet Agony won an Arthur Koestl ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Craig Hannaway. That night, visions mocked Vol’jin. He found himself in the midst of fighters, each of whom he recognized. He’d gathered them for that final assault on Zalazane, to end his madness and free the Echo Isles for the Darkspears. Each of the combatants took on aspects of a jihui cube, faced to be at their maximum power. Not a fireship among them, but this did not surprise Vol’jin. He was the fireship, but not yet turned to display his maximum power. This was not a fight, though desperate, in which he would destroy himself. Aided by Bwonsamdi, they would slay Zalazane and reclaim the Echo Isles. Who be you, this troll, who be having memories of a heroic effort? Vol’jin turned, hearing the click of a cube snapping to a new facing. He felt trapped inside that cube, translucent though it was, and shocked that it had no values on any face. “I be Vol’jin.” Bwonsamdi materialized in a gray world of swirling mists. “And who be this Vol’jin?” The question shook him. The Vol’jin of the vision had been the leader of the Darkspears, but was no longer. Reports of his death would just now be reaching the Horde. Perhaps they had not yet gotten there. In his heart, Vol’jin hoped his allies had been delayed, just so Garrosh could dwell one more day wondering if his plan had succeeded. That did not answer the question. He was no longer the leader of the Darkspears, not in any real sense. They might still acknowledge him, but he could give them no orders. They would resist Garrosh and any Horde attempt to conquer them, but in his absence, they might listen to envoys who offered them protection. They could be lost to him. Who do I be? Vol’jin shivered. Though he thought himself superior to Tyrathan Khort, at least the man was mobile and not wearing sick-robes. The man hadn’t been betrayed by a rival and assassinated. The man had clearly embraced some of the pandaren way. And yet, Tyrathan hesitated whe ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Scott Brick. Your Path to Success series is broken down into the five crucial elements you need to possess to be able to navigate the rough waters of life. The first thing you need to understand is that success is serious business. It involves inspiration and foresight, discipline to act, the strength to pick yourself up, the belief in yourself, and the humility to ask. This series will teach you how to do all of those things and not only put you on the path to success but will give you the tools needed to blaze down that path!Fail Your Way to SuccessFinally, a book that peels back the true nature of failure and uncovers the inextricable relationship between failure and success. It teaches you chapter after revealing chapter how to not only embrace failure but how failure creates a trajectory forward. This results in the need to fail fast before getting too far in the game; fail often so that you learn more about your task; and fail big. It highlights how great achievers view success and how they used failure to their benefit every single time. With failure they not only elevated themselves, they took humanity to greater heights with them.Discipline Your Way to SuccessMany inspired people miss the opportunities of being gifted the way they are because they don’t have the will or the discipline to move the inspiration from their soul to their hands. If you are the kind of person who is full of inspiration and plenty of ideas but none that have materialized then there is a good chance what you need to do is find a way to introduce discipline into your life.Meditate Your Way to SuccessMost entrepreneurs and people in business misunderstand the purpose and power of meditation and how it complements and energizes business leaders. It is often thought that meditation is a tool to relax, a tool to rid unwanted stress, and a means to dilute energies that activate the mind. All that is mostly untrue. Meditati ungekürzt. No other artwork in the world is comparable to the Virgin of Guadalupe. What makes this painting unique - located in the Basilica of Guadalupe, north of Mexico City - is not precisely its artistic quality, as is the case with the Mona Lisa by Leonardo or The Kiss by Gustav Klimt, nor its place in the evolution of painting. It clearly does not constitute a landmark in art history, and the most visited painting in the world is certainly not the summit or the harbinger of a new aesthetic movement, like Dali's melting watches or Van Gogh's Starry Night. In fact, for some, the execution of the image is coarse and all its elements fit well known techniques. For others, it is merely a copy of a sculpture of the Virgin found in Spain. What distinguishes the Virgin of Guadalupe of Mexico is her universality: unlike any work of art in the world, it can be recognized by any local resident, certainly the most ubiquitous symbol in her country. It would be difficult to find a Mexican who cannot name her. The other thing that makes the Virgin of Guadalupe incomparable is her power to unite her nation, something that has been widely demonstrated throughout history. At different moments, and raised by different hands, the Virgin of Guadalupe (never the original painting) has led the troops that changed the history of the territory now known as Mexico. Not even a few hours had passed after the start of the War of Independence when the rebel army was already carrying the image of Guadalupe; in the twentieth century the image was present at the indigenous rebellion in Chiapas in 1994 and also materialized during the Mexican "perestroika" of 2000, which ended the single-party regime that had lasted for seven decades. Going further back, during Mexico's conquest, Hernán Cortés carried an image of the Virgin that, to the disinterested observer, is obviously the prototype of the Mexican Madonna. For some, Guadalupe is the work of a talented Indian painter, and ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Scott Clem. Two women lay sprawled in front of my truck. They are very dead. Queenie sits like a statue on the passenger side of my vintage Chevy pick-up, looking like the circus fat lady that she thinks she is - but she's not laughing.I am on sabbatical in the Kaibab National Forest, feeding my own free spirit with life-changing time by myself, much needed and anticipated after my last exhausting coaching case.  Who am I, you ask? I am Joan Freed, the rebel life coach and nutritional therapist. You've never heard of me? That's okay. I keep a low profile intentionally. My office is wherever my 19' Wilderness RV is parked - which is never in an RV park if I can help it.I have my own agenda of proving that my seven-day, seven-step fast-track grief recovery program is valid, valuable, and necessary for the good of all the renegades out there, and for those who have to live with us.I believe and promote that we are each an individual with individual needs for recovery. Let us heal in the way that best feeds our spirit and brings fulfillment to our lives. The steps are the same. The way we take the steps is unique to each of us.I turn my case files into stories so that you, my treasured listener - I hope soon to be trusted partner in the Good Grief series - can benefit from the noesis of how to jump-start your own grief recovery program, root for those who are currently living it, and know that there is such a thing as good grief as well as "feel good" happy endings.I know none of these women, but the two dead ones seem to have known me because they have magically materialized near each of my camps for a couple of seasons now. I met Queenie last evening and was simply lending a hand - or, in this case my truck and nutritional expertise - to a woman in temporary need. Our less-than-24-hour kinship was an uncomplicated "women helping women" moment, I thought. While this could be a wearisome story of murder and mayhem, it isn't. ungekürzt. Language: English. Sweat trickled from her brow, down her cheek and was wiped away with a quick brush of her hand. Her heart pounded like a loud Zulu war drum vibrating over the African Savannah. There! She froze when she saw the mighty beast. The most masculine of all animals materialized out of nowhere. Ella desired this beast. Not for a trophy, nor a pic but to mate with him and to carry his kittens. Her ovaries ached with longing at the mere thought of mating with a magnificent animal such as this. With trembling hands she opened the vial and gulped the too sweet liquid down her throat. Ella had found it on the Dark Web and it promised to make her fertile and be able to carry any animal she selected. Sending a prayer to the wind that it would work and he would sire his kittens in her womb, she revealed herself to him. The large, majestic lion halted in his tracks, sniffing the hot air. His tail twitched back and forth as if confused. He stood there, thinking, then after a few moments he whirled around and strode toward her. Strange emotions rushed through her as the potion began to work its magic. All she could concentrate on was fucking this large black-maned lion. She froze when he pushed through the thickets and stopped dead, staring at her. Confusion danced in his amber eyes when he noticed her. Where was the lioness? His eyes seemed to ask. "I am, Big Boy." She slowly danced as she removed her clothes, with him focused on her.    Slowly he padded up to her like a large house cat. He shoved his nose in her lady parts and inhaled her rich lioness heat perfume. He gave a deep growl. She shivered as she spread her legs. Ella grew braver as she ran her fingers through his thick black mane. It reminded her of human hair and was a bit tangled. What did she expect, him go to the spa every day? In his excitement, he nearly knocked her over, rubbing his massive head against her. She knelt before him like he was a king. Big Boy sniffed her face as she peppered his large muzzle with searing virgin kisses. He lapped her face with his sandpaper-like tongue. She kissed him on his lips as her tongue explored his cavernous mouth, thrilled to be doing this to a wild lion. It was so forbidden!
