Both women were wearing alluring dresses. Both women had pleasant perfumes on. But, they were quite different from each other. The Mayor, in the middle, was inhaling both at the same time. That had a peculiar effect. The Mayor always thought that the perfume worn by a woman either complimented or ruined the scent of her natural pheromones. When the perfume and the pheromones are well-matched, the results can prove to be devastating for the man inhaling the combination. He can become irretrievably hooked on the woman.  The reverse of the process can make a man break Olympic speed records running away. The pheromones have always been the primary love potion designed by Mother Nature. Yes, men have it too, in abundance. That scent always attracted men and women to each other. That attraction always led to sex and procreation. That is, until some entrepreneurs began bottling flowers in alcohol and selling those bottles to women with the promise the concoction will spellbind men.Now the Mayor was deeply engaged in comparing the pheromones of both women. It was not easy, as their natural scents were being masked by flowers in alcohol. Yet somehow he was able to distinguish the two from each other. Next, he was almost compelled to decide which one he liked better. That surprised the Mayor as he did his utmost not to judge anyone or anything, but accept the values displayed. Those values belonged to someone or something else. He did not need to enforce his own onto something else. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Saethon Williams. Are you looking for an effective way for managing anger during everyday situations? Then keep listening....Anger is what you feel when somebody or something rubs you the wrong way. It’s an intense feeling of displeasure, or an expression of unkind words to show a strong dislike for something or somebody. Anger has the same meaning as rage, annoyance, wrath, fury, vexation, indignation, outrage, crossness, irritation, resentment, and so forth. And it can be expressed, not only in words, but also by actions that may include physical harm on the object of your anger. From those other words for anger, you’d easily conclude that it’s one very bad emotion that everybody should try to avoid like a plague. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Instead, more people, rich and poor, in societies across the globe, seem to actively stoke the fire of anger in their respective countries. Anger is widespread and growing. It’s the most common emotion among people in many societies. In the United States, anger wells up against politicians on both partisan platforms. There’s anger across racial lines, in the family circles, by kids against their parents and between spouses. Anger is a fundamental emotion that any normal human being experiences regularly. At an early age, a person learns to express anger by observing their environment. A child might copy the angry behavior they observe being modeled around them. Through this, they learn to express anger and see whether they can get away with anything by throwing tantrums. Most people think of anger as something that’s negative. In many cultures around the world, people find it difficult to express anger because they have been brought up thinking that it’s not right to express your anger directly. Anger, in most cultures, is treated as something dangerous, something that shouldn’t be tolerated. As a result, many people tend to develop anger issues. They spend most of their lives bottling up their emoti ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Olivia Hampton. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/196345/bk_acx0_196345_sample.mp3. The truth is: Your behavior as a child reflects what you are going to grow up to become. It is extremely important that the children around us, who are responsible for shaping the future, undergo healthy development during their early phase. One of the main problems that children nowadays face is their inability to cope with situations that requires patience. Often, when children find that life is taking unexpected turns, they become angry. They cannot cope with the fact that they are having problems. Anger management is a remedy to such sensitive problems.Anger management, in the most basic of senses, is a process that can help your child recognize the different situations wherein they get angry, and take action to calm themselves down and deal with their problems/situations in a reasonable and productive manner. However, it is key that we recognize that anger management, in no way, promotes problematic behaviors such as trying to keep you from feeling anger or bottling up your emotions. It is natural for children to feel angry, but it is important that we deal with our anger in a reasonable way. This is the concept of anger management! Here are a few reasons why anger management is important for kids:To help them deal with perpetual negative thinking and impatient behavioral patterns. To teach them compassion To help them deal with minute irritation on tiniest of thingsTo help them deal with problems they would otherwise avoid facing and just being angry about itTo help them grow into a mature personDownload: Anger Management for Kids, a guide to be calm, involving calming coping skills and tips for kids, and how to help children and parents to cope with stress.Anger management is an important therapy that all the children must know the basics of. April 18, 1861, marked the date Southern forces started pouring into Harper’s Ferry, Virginia. Six days earlier, shots had been fired at Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina, marking the beginning of the Civil War, and Virginia officially seceded from the Union April 17. The following day, men arrived in the town where John Brown’s attempted uprising was quelled less than two years earlier. The men came from all portions of the Confederate States of America (C.S.A.) and the border states of Kentucky and Maryland, but the preponderance of volunteers came from Virginia.Once the Confederate troops occupied Harper's Ferry, martial law was declared and so-called “feather bed” Confederate military officers, often referred to as “swells”, were replaced by professional soldiers with military training. One such man who arrived from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) was Thomas Jonathan Jackson, who on April 27 was ordered by Virginia Governor John Letcher to take control of the troops converging on Harpers Ferry. He did as ordered and began to form what became the renowned Stonewall Brigade.Jackson and his brigade earned the nickname “Stonewall” at First Manassas by turning the tide of that battle, and they would become known as the legendary foot cavalry by bottling up three different Union armies in the Shenandoah Valley in 1862. Although Stonewall Jackson and the Stonewall Brigade may share the most famous nickname to come out of the Civil War, it’s still unclear whether Barnard Bee, the general who provided the legendary name at First Manassas, meant it as a complaint that they were not moving or as a compliment for standing resolute in the heat of battle.Regardless, the Stonewall Brigade went on to fight in every major battle in the Eastern theater of the American Civil War, to the extent that of the 6,000 men who fought with the brigade over the course of four years, less than 200 remained by the time General Robert E. The sunshine that hits the Earth in a single hour could meet the world's food and energy demands for an entire year. If only we could make use of it, that is. Solar power is not just about turning sunlight into electricity - we also need a way of capturing and storing it, of moving it around to where it's needed. Of providing power during the night. In short we need a way of bottling sunshine so we can have as much of it as we want, wherever and whenever we like. Solve this and we will welcome the solar revolution. Our current coal, oil, and gas energy supplies rely on sunshine captured long ago by plants and animals long since fossilized. Harnessing the sun directly would open the way to a future free from the side effects of burning carbon. But that's not the only reason to look to the sun. By 2050 the world's population is predicted to rise to some 10 billion individuals. Our energy requirements will nearly double over the same period. Today we are burning through 20 million years of fossil record every year. We use this energy to stock our supermarkets, light our homes, and run our businesses. In the long run, we're going to need to find a new way of powering our lifestyles. In The Solar Revolution, Steve McKevitt and Tony Ryan explore this energy problem and the solutions on offer. From nuclear to wind, fossil fuels to sunshine, they look at where our energy comes from and what the issues are with producing it this way or that. They delve into the science that underpins it all as well, explaining exactly how the sun's rays might be turned into a new liquid fuel to power the world. ungekürzt. Language: English. The Truth About Olive Oil, with a forward by Jim Henry, president of Texas Olive Ranch, executive director of Texas Olive Oil Council, is a celebration of the benefits the lowly little olive showers have on those who embrace its many flavors and colors by using it - both internally (by eating it) and externally (by rubbing it on their skin and in their hair). Its health-giving benefits (anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties) are legendary and can be traced back to its earliest uses well before the time of Christ. In this book, I hope to stimulate further interest in the use of olives and olive oil by presenting various "how to do it" scenarios that are practical and fun. For instance, making table olives is an easy and fun thing to do that takes very little actual "doing" on your part. Most of the curing time can be spent by doing other things while the curing medium does the job of making the fruit edible. I provide specific instructions on how to do this. And what about getting olives from your own trees pressed so you can enjoy home-grown olive oil? You might think that only commercial growers can do this. Well, I found two commercial olive oil processors who will accept your smaller loads of olives, combine them with other small loads, do the pressing and the bottling, and return the resultant oil to you on a prorated basis. In addition, I tell you about the various grades and classifications of olive oil and what they mean to you in terms of their nutritional value. I think you'll be quite surprised at what you discover. The external uses of olive oil (and some internal uses as well) all involve using this liquid as a form of folk remedy. It's a skin lotion to soothe rough chapped elbows or lips; it's a diaper rash cure; it's a massage oil for easing aches and pains; it's a lot of things, and we've only just scratched the surface. ungekürzt. The Roman Church...[says] that the heretics they persecute are the church of wolves. But this is absurd, for the wolves have always pursued and killed the sheep, and today it would have to be the other way around for the sheep to be so mad as to bite, pursue, and kill the wolves, and for the wolves to be so patient as to let the sheep devour them! (Excerpt from the alleged writings of the Cathars) The unique, copper-red hue of the naturally cracked earth on the foothills of the French Pyrenees is obviously stunning, but if the rumors are to be believed, they, too, are rich with medicinal properties. For centuries, locals have been scooping up and bottling the precious dirt and turning them into an array of poultices, salves, and even tonics. This land is also home to several legends and local traditions. When the earth is drenched by heavy storms, the crumbling red soil drifts into the River Aude, staining the water with crimson. This beautiful, yet haunting phenomenon, which the locals call the “blood of the Cathars”, is a symbolic reminder of the blood shed by these “heretics” at the hands of the Catholic Church. Despite the controversial events, and their supposed heresy, it seemed that the fall of the Cathars brought an everlasting curse upon the region. As one unnamed farmer, documented by French medievalist Jean Duernoy, put it, “Since the heretics were chased away from Sabartes, there is no longer good weather in this area.” Another notary from Tarn echoed his sentiments, asserting, “When the heretics lived in these lands, we did not have so many storms and lightning. Now that we are with Franciscans and Dominicans, the lightning strikes more frequently....” But who were these Cathars, and why was the Catholic Church so committed to getting rid of them? The Cathars: The History and Legacy of the Gnostic Christian Sect During the Middle Ages examines the origins of the cult, their fascinating belief system, their grad ungekürzt. Language: English.
