In any home, some cleaning-related tasks spark dread in some members of the household, while others don’t mind them at all. For example, one person might detest emptying the dishwasher, and therefore, complete other chores that he or she likes more, or at least is willing to do. Do you think it’s fair to be able to pick and choose when it comes to cleaning and home maintenance? What if everyone likes and dislikes the same tasks? How are chores delegated in your household? Do your kids expect clean folded clothes to magically appear in their drawers? Do they roll their eyes when you suggest they clean the bathroom? By racing in to make their lives easy, have you unintentionally reinforced your children’s belief that the world revolves around them? If you accept that one invests energy at home, it is vital to clean it, since we shed a great deal of skin cells. Because of the manufacturing of skin cells and dust, it is fitting that we clean our floors, and covers occasionally, to improve air quality. We need to breathe clean air. And if we are to prevent odors from cooking, the infestation of gnats, rodents, mice, and other vermin, we need to have a clean environment. Consistent upkeep of a home, as far as cleanliness and orderliness, is, to a great degree, key to our physical wellbeing and emotional wellness. A spotless and clean home diminishes stress and enhances emotional wellbeing, consequently enhancing personal satisfaction. Envision the joy of strolling into a spotless home by the day's end or strolling into an impeccable kitchen in the morning while at the same time scrambling for work. Both occasions are mitigating of stress and to a great degree relieving, once addressed. Living or flourishing in filthy conditions can be unpleasant, undesirable, and disturbing. A clean house is a healthy house.  ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: ANJALI SARKAR. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/115328/bk_acx0_115328_sample.mp3. Digital audiobook in aax.

Since 2001, the Gallup Management Journal has provided leaders with essential insights into managing the human side of their businesses - their employees and customers. This book features the highlights of the first seven years of the GMJ: more than 50 thought-provoking articles with actionable ideas, grounded in decades of Gallup management research. The Best of the Gallup Management Journal 2001-2007 could not be more relevant today, as executives continue to struggle with the transition into a 21st century global economy. Many leaders have reengineered and reorganized their companies numerous times. But what remains is the biggest business challenge of all: improving and perfecting relationships with customers and with the employees who engage them. More than anything, executives and managers need quantifiable, measurable strategies for making the "intangible" side of their businesses as productive and profitable as it can be. For years, "hard-headed" business leaders and gurus have said that it's impossible to measure these intangibles. The GMJ argues that they're wrong, and this book offers proof. Drawing on interviews with millions of employees and customers worldwide, the articles and interviews in these minutes cover topics such as the best way to get meaningful employee feedback, why customer satisfaction is the wrong measure, the 12 elements of great managing, why most advertising doesn't work, and the impact of positive leadership. A range of voices from within and outside of Gallup is included in these minutes. A Ritz-Carlton executive tells how his company is reinventing its world-class brand, while a leader at Ann Taylor describes how the retailer invests in talent. Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman probes how customers think, while one of the inventors of the Internet, Vinton Cerf, speculates on the future of his creation. Today's savvy e-commerce business owner knows how to compete. In years past, a business shopped for the products they wanted to resell, then they purchased the items and stored them while they searched for an end user or consumer. Once the product was sold, they shipped the item to their customer and hopefully made a profit. The method outlined above is costly. Besides the price of the item, the seller pays shipping from the manufacturer (or distributor) to his location. He then stores the item, taking up resources and space until he resells the merchandise. He invests time and effort into marketing the item. Finally, either he or the end user pays shipping (again) to their location. As the shipper, if the item is lost or damaged in shipping, the expense of filing tracking and claims falls on him as well. All of these steps have to be factored into the price of the item for the end user. The customer will decide if the end price of the item is a bargain and is competitive. Drop shipping is a proven way of reducing or eliminating many of these expenses, thus making the end price lower for the consumer and more profitable for the seller. With drop shipping, a seller or retailer does not purchase the item and store it for resell, but rather sells the merchandise and ships it directly from the manufacturer to the consumer. The seller does not have to store the item or pay shipping from the manufacture to his location. He does not have to handle the item himself. This reduces the chance of loss or damage and speeds up the process considerably! He needs less start-up money and can invest more time and money into his sales. (Storage rental can be very costly and a product that moves slower than anticipated can create a cash flow problem right out of the gate.) This is a great way to make money online. This guide will tell you how. So, let's get started! ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Adam Schulmerich. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/035986/bk_acx0_035986_sample.mp3. San Francisco, 1970s. Free love has given way to radical feminism, psychedelic ecstasy to hard-edged gloom. The Zodiac Killer stalks the streets. A disgraced professor takes a downtown office to plot his return. But the walls are thin, and he’s distracted by voices from next door—his neighbor is a psychologist, and one of her patients dislikes the hum of the white-noise machine. And so he begins to hear about the patient’s troubles with her female lover, her conflicts with her adoptive WASP family, and her quest to track down her birth mother. The professor is enraptured. And the further he is pulled into the patient’s recounting of her dramas—and the most profound questions of her own identity—the more he needs the story to move forward. The patient’s questions about her birth family have led her to a Catholic charity that trafficked freshly baptized orphans out of Germany after World War II. But confronted with this new self—"I have no idea what it means to say "I'm a Jew'"—the patient finds her search stalled. Armed with the few details he’s gleaned, the professor takes up the quest and quickly finds the patient’s mother in records from a German displaced-persons camp. But he can’t let on that he’s been eavesdropping, so he mocks up a reply from an adoption agency the patient has contacted and drops it in the mail. Through the wall, he hears how his dear patient is energized by the news, and so is he. He unearths more clues and invests more and more in this secret, fraught, triangular relationship: himself, the patient, and her therapist, who is herself German. His research leads them deep into the history of displaced-persons camps, of postwar Zionism, and—most troubling of all—of the Nazi Lebensborn program. With ferocious intelligence and an enthralling, magnetic prose, Ellen Ullman weaves a dark and brilliant, intensely personal novel that feels as big and timeless as it is sharp and timely. It is an ambitious work that establis ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Malcolm Hillgartner. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/blak/004865/bk_blak_004865_sample.mp3.
