Coffee Moment
Welcome to my site. I am Rody Coronel from the Netherlands. I produce electronic music. Ambient, dance, trance and classical electronica are my favorite genres. Born in 1971 Maassluis, the Netherlands, I grew up listening to all kinds of music (Jarre, Vangelis, Queen, etc.). At elementary school I noticed that I could play and memorize music much easier then the other kids but at that time I was not really interested in music...yet. That all changed when I was about 14 years of age. With my old synthesizer, a Korg Poly Six, I imitated every tune I heard on the radio. One day I heard a classical piece played with synthesizers and a church organ. Wow, that sounded so big, so huge. It was a piece by Widor, the Toccata from Symphony no. 5. It totally overwhelmed me. I wanted to hear more and I started to listen to different classical organ pieces. Not long after that I decided to take organ lessons. A year later I got lessons on a real church organ and I started to study the pieces from Widor, Franck, Bach, Reger, etc. After seven years of organ lessons I had to stop because at that time my science education, going out and getting drunk took up most of my time... and my money, so I sold my instruments. A couple of years later, when I was graduated and working my day job, I played with some synths at my friend's house. I just could not stop playing. I had to buy the equipment myself again and so I did. I started to make songs and decided to put them on the internet (mp3.com). The response was overwhelming and after a year I was actually making money with it. With 2,5 million listens to my music it was getting quite known out there and I started to get some offers for different releases. I did some and declined some, resigned my day job and started composing and producing fulltime. I released my music on several compilation CDs by Water Music Records, two educational NASA DVDs and my first full downtempo album 'Mixed Feelings' on DZOS Records. Mit dieser Botschaft kündigt Sébastian Tellier seine lang erwartete Rückkehr an und drängt mit seinem vierten Album My God Is Blue in unser kollektives musikalisches Bewusstsein. My God Is Blue ist eine Platte mit einer Botschaft, die von etwas höherem, etwas allmächtigem, von etwas spirituell bedeutenderem befeuert wird als alles andere was der Pariser Künstler bislang komponiert hat. Es ist ein Album, das eine prophetische Philosophie und eine idealistische Vision beherbergt. Ein Album, das nicht nur unterhalten, inspirieren und bezirzen möchte, sondern eine Gemeinschaft aus ähnlich denkenden Individuen versammeln möchte, die ihrem Traum folgen und ihre wahre Bestimmung finden. Nachdem ich meine 'Sexuality'-Tour beendet habe, musste ich erst mal auftanken und mich wieder motivieren, um ein neues Album zu machen., sagt Tellier. Herausgekommen ist ein Album, das unfassbar ist und das nur Tellier machen kann, der bärtige Dandy. Man stelle sich den Soft-Erotik-Fotografen David Hamilton, George Michael, Jean Michel Jarre, Emanuelle und den Bhagwan selbst zusammen in einer Band vor. 70iger Schmock-Reminiszenzen, Choräle, Disco, Pop, alles da, alles genial! Derart inspiriert von dem Streben nach dem Verständnis und der Realisierung der eigenen Träume konnte die Arbeit an My God Is Blue beginnen. Wie üblich arbeitete Tellier zunächst in seinem Heimstudio bevor er mit dem angesehenen Produzenten und Ed Banger-Getreuen Mr. Flash das Album im Studio fertig stellte. Jedes Stück verbirgt eine Botschaft, die es zu entdecken gibt. , sagt Tellier zum lyrischen Zusammenhang des Albums. Die erste Single, das Eröffnungsstück, das grandiose, chorale Pépito Bleu fordert die Hörer zur Neu-Erfindung des Selbst und dazu, die Einbildungskraft zum Träumen zu haben. Als musikalische Inspirationen für das Album nennt Tellier Michael Jackson und George Michael was auf seine Pop-Ambitionen und den aufrichtigen Wunsch nach Tanzflächenfüllern schließen lässt. Ein Stück wie Cochon Ville lebt von entzückenden Rhythmen und zwingenden melodischen Refrains, die zusammen spielen, um die Hörer zu verzücken, zu verzaubern und zu verführen wie es nur Sébastien Tellier vermag. Im Verlauf seiner Karriere war Tellier inspiriert von unterschiedlichen mental, spirituell und physikalisch provokativen Themen, die jeweils zum Grundstein seiner Alben wurden. Beginnend mit Politics von 2004 und vorläufig endend mit dem sehr erfolgreichen Sexuality von 2008 hat Tellier die vergangene Dekade damit verbracht den zündenden Funken der Inspiration in ein loderndes Feuer künstlerischer Kreativität zu verwandeln. Es gibt immer ein gerade akutes Thema wie Sexualität, Politik oder Wahrheit als Ausgangspunkt meiner Alben. Aber eigentlich muss man über das Mysteriöse dieser Themen sprechen. Es ist dieses Mysteriöse, das den Funken für die 12 neuen Stücke liefert. Es zieht sich eine tief verwurzelte Philosophie durch das Album, die sich in den mystischen, kostbaren und beherzten Songtexten ausdrückt. Eine Einladung zur Erleuchtung pulsiert durch diese Songs, eine Vision und ein Versprechen, das bestärkt wird durch die Online-Gemeinschaft die sich um und durch die Musik zusammenfindet: L'Alliance Bleue (Die Blaue Allianz). Das Ziel von L'Alliance Bleue ist es einen Platz der Freiheit zu kreieren, in einem buchstäblichen Sinn. At the time, musicians were trying to capture the singing of meteorites entering the terrestrial atmosphere thanks to machines developed by NASA engineers, a new generation of analog synthesizers that enabled a bunch of electronic music composers to take over the charts. It seems that the machines were definitely made to serve a radical avant-garde, and many years later, we're glad to be able to listen to it with perspective, and most of all...to dance to it! While moving your feet to Cosmic Machine The Sequel, you might identify Francis Lay, recognized as one of the best music composers in France, as well as Rosebud, who had the audacity to remix the main theme from the movie "More", created by The Pink Floyd. You'll also find "Les Soucoupes Volantes Vertes" from Heldon, band led by Richard Pinhas, a real visionary of electronic music. Pascal Comelade, a friend of his, and worthy heir of the American minimalist music also appears on this record, with a cold electronic sound called "Mouvement Décomposé d'Un Coup de Marteau".
