The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark (Adaptation), Hörbuch, Digital, 249min
When veteran award-winning radio theater producer Joe Bevilacqua was a student in his final semester at Kean College (now Kean University) in 1982, he designed his own course, in which he produced and directed a radio version of Hamlet. Casting Kean faculty and students, and portraying the melancholy Danish prince himself, Bevilacqua did not simply complete his nearly four-hour radio adaption of Shakespeare's greatest work. He did so while carrying a double major in speech-theater-media-communication and English, while producing, acting in, and sometimes writing radio plays for the WKNJ Radio Theater he founded at the college station. He also portrayed Dr. Martn Dysart in Equus on the Kean Stage, and worked 24 hours per week as the assistant manager of Kean's Writing and Math Lab. After graduating summa cum laude, Bevilacqua saw his production of Hamlet picked up and distributed by the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NFCB) and aired on public radio stations nationwide. Bevilacqua went on to become one of the most prolific radio-drama producers in the United States, as well as an on-camera actor in such films as The Fly Room and The Better Angels. He also appeared in television shows, including portraying British General Bernard Montgomery in the History Channel's The Wars and the head of NBC in 1931 for HBO's Boardwalk Empire. The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare at an uncertain date between 1599 and 1602. Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet is instructed to enact on his uncle, Claudius. Claudius had murdered his own brother, Hamlet's father, and subsequently seized the throne. He also married his deceased brother's widow, Gertrude. Language: English. Narrator: full cast. White Coat and Sneakers , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 366min
A fascinating and thought-provoking journey from modern Los Angeles to turn-of-the-century Louisiana, Hillary Chollet’s debut explores the infinite nature of the human soul. His felicity for time and place - for portraying vastly different cultures, life views, and societal constructs - is nothing short of a revelation, while bristling dialogue and a keen eye for detail serve only to add greater depth and complexity. A moving novel of insight and raw emotion, White Coat and Sneakers exposes the core of our being with delicacy and reverence as it unspools the mysteries of life as we know it. ungekürzt. The Life and Teachings of Jesus: A Restatement of the Gospels, Hörbuch, Digital, 337min
This audiobook is a restatement of the life and teachings of Jesus as recorded in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Like an earlier effort by Thomas Jefferson, who produced The Jefferson Bible in the early 1800s, its purpose is to distill from the scriptures only those verses truly portraying the life and teachings of Jesus. Each major event of his life is treated individually, and then arranged in chronological order. Thus, it presents the story of Jesus as it actually took place, from birth through death and resurrection. This format promotes a better understanding of Jesus’ real life and his original gospel of the kingdom. Language: English. Narrator: Preston Thomas. Tangled Beauty , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 260min
This audiobook is a steamy contemporary romance audiobook. Sinclair Jeffries thought she knew what she was getting into when her zany, gay friend, Jesse Eddington, talked her into portraying his girlfriend during his parent's anniversary party on Huntington Beach. That is, until she met Reed, Jesse's sexy as hell older brother, and ends up getting much more than what she'd bargained for. Reed Eddington assumed his future was settled until he met Sinclair, his brother's so-called "girlfriend," but the raw, sexual tension between them is hard to ignore. As he watches their ruse from the sidelines, he finds himself wanting to uncover more than just their amusing little facade. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Elizabeth Meadows.
